It would be cool if they select Michael Shanks to play the big screen role, wouldn't it?

Here's the story: http://www.cinematical.com/2009/12/21/hawkman-movie-takes-flight-at-warner-brothers/

Excerpt: Described as "part Indiana Jones, part Da Vinci Code, and part Ghost", exclusive sources at Pajiba report that Hawkman will be the next DC Comics character to get the big screen treatment from Warner Brothers. With Green Lantern shooting in 2010, are we starting to see Warners lay down the groundwork for an eventual Justice League film?

From Pajiba: Not so coincidentally, I suspect, Hawkman will also be making an appearance in a two-hour episode of “Smallville” this February — he’s set to be played by Michael Shanks. Perhaps, DC is using “Smallville” to test interest in the character before moving ahead on development of Hawkman, which is currently out to writers. Will Hackner at DC Comics is running point on the big-screen version.

Where do we start the petition? :)

From Joystiq.com -- "Well I just wrapped up a little independent film called Rain from Stars which is written and directed by Steven Wallace and French Stewart, a wonderful comedic actor, and Jeremy London, Brian Krause ... a really lovely cast. It's called Rain from Stars, and is like 12 Angry Men meets Saw."
